Residential Solar Water Heating Appliance

EnerWorks Benefits

EnerWorks' one to four collector panel systems are the only solar thermal panel systems that are CSA approved. Buying CSA pre-certified products cannot be recommended enough: it will expedite inspector approvals and applications for permits and is required for a variety of incentives and rebates. It will also assist in obtaining appropriate insurance after installation.

For the homeowner, solar hot water heating is an affordable, cost-competitive, reliable and environmentally-friendly alternative. It offers significant energy savings. For southern Ontario and northern USA, for example, this savings averages at 50% per year for full-year operation. In more southern climates such as southern USA, the appliance can provide over 80% of the annual residential water heating energy requirements. For seasonal, off-grid installations, savings of up to 100% can be realized.

EnerWorks solar heating appliances are easy to maintain and provide reliable, efficient water heating, while reducing green house gas emissions by 40 to 50 percent and providing access to green energy at an individual home basis.

For the homebuilder, solar thermal technology contributes a significant number of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) points toward Green Builder leadership. The LEED certification program introduced by the US Green Building Council and adopted by its Canadian equivalent has recently piloted home building applications and is quickly becoming the standard for evaluating environmental efficiency.

Builders who embrace such innovative, cost-effective, environmentally responsible solutions will have a distinct advantage in appealing to the environmentally conscious homeowner.

With water heating accounting for 25% of a home's energy needs and producing about two tons of carbon dioxide emission annually, solar hot water appliances are an eco-friendly alternative.
